>>> REEL BREAKDOWN <<<
Segment 1: Mushroom Bloom
Inspired by the simple yet expressive nature of mushrooms and nature. I wanted to create a sort of lush scene with rich soothing lighting and a sense of realism. The piece is all original work, except for the butterfly rig, which I pulled in to animate. Created in Blender.
Segment 2: Magical Tree Player
Personal project, inspired by my house plant to which I imagined a tiny man playing a guitar under vibrant glowing leaves illuminating the space. This pieces is 100% original, including the man model, rig, and painted leaf patterns. Created in Blender.
Segment 3: Company Xmas Card
A snippet of a digital Xmas card I created for fun with some downtime I had one year where the reindeer steps on the light switch to activate the xmas tree lights and spin which leads to the logo reveal above. This was posted on our company social media and send to some clients. I storyboarded, design, and created all the assets. For time's sake, I modeled a low-poly reindeer with a super simple rig to give some basic motion. Created in Blender.

Segment 4: Orion Telescope
Personal project. With my love of science and space, I wanted to create a mock project that one would see used for a telescope promo. I created the model using my personal telescope as a reference. I composed small close up shots to give hints to each step of the users journey in using the telescope with the aim of keeping rich cinematic lighting and atmosphere.

Segment 5: Friends of Kids with Cancer "Fashion Show Boutique" Intro
Hand drawn animation short for Friend's of Kid with Cancer's annual fashion show. With only 2-3 months time, was tasked to storyboard, direct and animate this 2.5 minute pieces solo, based off a script a team mate developed and approved. The client wanted a storybook feel to match this year's show theme to be presented before the show began. It was a hard push to finish on time, so I had to really prioritize getting the art-direction, characters essential poses and flow down before adding in-betweens and background matte painting.
Segment 6: Friends of Kids with Cancer "Voodoo in the Loo" Promo
I was asked to animate a promo for the Friend of Kids with Cancer's annual burlesque show fundraiser event. Given only a list of call-to-action points to display and a handful of images referencing mood and previous shows, I decided to create a 3D experience. I created a scene pulling textures and images from the Fabulous Fox Theater to map onto pillars and floor carpets to give it an abstract interpretation one experiences while visiting the Fox. I wanted to the viewer feel they were experiencing a tall and vast space with that old art deco vibe. I stripped out people from the previous show images to have them as points the camera visits as it navigates the scene.
Segment 7: Recreational Group - Modular Tile Flip
Part of a pitch I developed for one of our main clients. One of their companies deals with interchangeable tile surfaces used for various sports courts and activities. I wanted to pitch them a fun animation to promote how easy, fun, and versatile their court products are by morphing from one court to another while utilizing some new techniques I've been learning within Blender's geometry nodes.

Segment 8: Cubes Fill Cube
A fun little project with a slight aim to expand upon a current client's logo animation and brand story. The goal was to have a crafty/tactile isometric vibe with these colorful boxes with are part of their client's brand and purpose of automation and robotic packing. However still a WIP as of today.

Segment 9: Portafab Brand Story
Portafab Modular Systems needed an animated header to showcase their brand identity.

Segment 10: Book Explosion
A fun personal growth project created by hand drawing frames using Blender's Grease Pencil tool. Inspired by the mycelial network that spans underground the connecting
various trees and plants, coupled with the idea of a book being inert object that can cause such a world of experience to appear to the one who opens and reads it.
I explored some of the Grease Pencil's possibilities by layering several animated object planes in 3D space to create the illusion of parallax. This also allowed me to recycle assets to easily give a full feel in less time.

Segment 11: Patterson Tire Promo
A project I worked on for Patterson Tires. They wanted to create a satire piece of the song "Rawhide" where the idea was to be rounding up tires instead of cattle. They had a script of lyrics they had written for me to start from. I captured photos of their two owners to use as head assets for the characters with vector bodies. I storyboarded and animated the piece to the original Rawhide track. Sadly, the person they had lined up for the new music track fell through and this project never saw the light of day.

Segment 12: Antennas Direct "Proof is in the Loop" Promo
Animated promo to be placed in Amazon video. The goal was to show case their sleek design and unique inner technology that sets their product apart from competitors. I was able to use of their product models in the animation so I focused on the storyboarding, lighting, materials and animation.
Segment 13: Clayton Corp - Applicator Gun
Client wanted an animated web header to show case one of their applicator guns and nozzles. I was given the product model to use. I storyboarded a series of shots, textured, lit and animated the scenes.
Segment 14: CN (Clarion)
Mock project using one of our core client's iconography to experiment with pushing their 2D vector branding into a more of a modern 3D feel. Clarion is one of several products they offer in the field of biotech.

Segment 15: Tactile Wave Strips
Personal project where I was mimicking a style I saw for a sports ad that used wavy strips that had a rich sense of texture animate and form various shapes. It was also a project and understand more of Blender's powerful geometry nodes tools.
Segment 16: Fanta Splash
Mock project to learn and replicate various drink commercials. The goal was creating bright vibrant lighting, a realistic looking bottle, and learn more about liquid particle effects within Blender.

Segment 15: Hardcase Technologies
A personal mock product piece inspired by love of handpan playing. I modeled and texture my handpan and case to create this fun piece that has the UFO looking handpan fly into the case, zip up and display the case company's product logo.
Segment 16: Nitrex Brake Rotors
Nitrex tasked us to create a series of videos that promoted their environment friendly brake rotor treatment product. These were to be used in tradeshows as well as social media outlets. We were provided a general storyboard and art direction of stark black and grays of a rotor going down a road like a car commercial. I was in charge of fleshing out the art-direction as well as most of the overarching pieces of production from style frames, to modeling environments assets, to lighting and animation, to compositing, and audio. I had help from my team interpreting the clients needs and getting feedback from the progression I was making. The graphic overlays were recycled from assets they previous had used on other projects.

Segment 17: Tongue-Tied
A fun little personal project inspired by the toads I hear during the spring time. I wanted to create a scene with more simple characters that emulated a sort of clay stop-motion vibe. I created all of the environment assets over a few months, slowing building a personal stylized asset library to use at will. I also modeled and rigged the characters. One of the biggest challenges of this piece was to simulate the water rippling away from the toads in just the right way matching their singing. I feel I did an fairly ok job though might try another approach in the future.
