This short skit was an exercise fueled by these main objectives...



Create simple characters that involve simple rigging solutions.

Create a composition with reusable assets that have a tactile sense of style and appeal (similar to classic stop-motion).

Convey a simple story to be completed during the
Spring time on my off-hours (while still hearing the toads and froggies outside) and still giving these quirky cute characters the charm they deserve.
Some quick character and storyboard thumbnail sketches to establish mood and character emotions. I used this is a basic framework and later evolved the story on the fly :)

All in all, I feel it turned out quite nicely.
One of the more challenging obstacles was solving the water interaction physics. I wanted to create the rippling effect these creatures make when singing, as part of the story. I feel it turned out ok in the time I gave myself, though look to find a better solution.
